Kumihimo is the traditional Japanese technique of braiding strands of silk to create intricately colored cording. Samurai warriors once used Kumihimo as laces for their armor. In this class, you’ll learn how to make a one-of-a-kind multi-colored Kumihimo necklace out of silky cording with a pretty matching glass pendant. Several color combinations will be available to choose from. Instructions will include how to set up and weave on the special Kumihimo disk, along with steps for professionally finishing off your final design. Jewelry tools will be provided for use in class. Class fee includes Kumihimo disk, colored cording, clasp, pendant and bail.
