Yes, you can make rings! In this class, you will be guided through the process of determining the length of metal needed to produce a particular ring size including for a ring that will be textured after soldering. Using various styles of silver wire, you will create three different rings in the same size, to be worn as a set. As time allows, you will add a small calibrated cabochon in a pre-made setting to one of the rings. You will finish and polish your rings using hand techniques. Cabochon availability and pricing will vary—or you can provide your own. Cost of the kit with all the silver components will be $15 excluding the cabochon. Skills covered in this class include cutting wire to length, using a hammer to texture the metal, filing edges, soldering, setting a cabochon, and finally polishing and finishing. When you leave class, you will not only have successfully soldered your first rings—but you will also take with you a comprehensive handout, with fully illustrated step-by-step instructions to help you get started in your home studio. In this class, you’ll learn how to make a one-of-a-kind multi-colored Kumihimo necklace out of silky cording with a pretty matching glass pendant. Several color combinations will be available to choose from. Instructions will include how to set up and weave on the special Kumihimo disk, along with steps for professionally finishing off your final design. Jewelry tools will be provided for use in class. The Arezzo cuff is designed with a woven netting technique that combines three types of beads to make a pretty lacy zigzag pattern. This is a bead weaving project done with only needle, thread, and beads. The color combinations of the beads are endless and you will have several to choose from in class. Once you get the pattern down, you’ll be on your way to creating your own unique piece. The bracelet is quite classy and elegant and will look stunning on your wrist and is sure to be an attention getter! Jewelry tools will be provided for use in class.
